Session 1<\/h1>\n

Title: Opening Address
\n\t 
\n\tThe meeting chair, Christine Perey, will kick off the meeting with a short welcome presentation<\/a>. We will frame the key meeting objectives as well as review the agenda and discuss program details.<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n

Session 2 and 3<\/h1>\n

Title: SDO Presentations<\/p>\n

There are multiple international Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) seeking to increase AR reach (audience), flexibility and robustness of final services to end users. The domains of expertise, memberships, Intellectual Property policies and view points of these SDOs differ.<\/p>\n

The objective of sessions 2 and 3 is to permit each Standards Development Organization currently working separately to report on its progress since the Sixth AR Standards Community Meeting or since it's last report to the community members.<\/p>\n

We also seek to include any SDO that has not previously participated in AR Standards Community meetings but that is exploring the extension of existing (or development of new) standards to contribute a presentation during this session.<\/p>\n

Presentations run 20 minutes each unless approved in advance.<\/p>\n

Session 4<\/h1>\n

Title: Augmented Reality Reference Model<\/p>\n

During Session 4, the presentation and discussion will focus first on the Draft AR Reference Model since the sixth meeting. This session will be led and the discussion facilitated by Marius Preda, co-editor of SC29 ISO\/IEC 23000-14 MPEG-A Part 14 AR Reference Model.<\/p>\n

The AR Reference Model methodology is based on two International standards for software architecture: IEEE 1471 and ISO\/IEC 10746. The AR Reference Model uses four of the five the architectural viewpoints defined in ISO\/IEC 10746 Reference Model for Open Distributed Processing (RM-ODP):  Enterprise, Information, Computation, and Engineering.<\/p>\n

We will begin the session with a presentation by Marcus Toennis<\/a>, TUM, summarizing the outcomes of the ISMAR12 Classifying the AR Presentation Space<\/a> workshop. The slides from this session are available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We will then take inputs to the draft AR Reference Model based on state of the art and needs of all ecosystem segments (e.g, developers, content providers, network operators, handset manufacturers, etc).<\/a><\/p>\n

Session 5<\/h1>\n

Title: Day One Summary and Day Two Welcome<\/p>\n

Beginning at 8:30 AM for those who are unable to attend the first day sessions, we will summarize the SDO status and set the stage for the second day’s sessions designed to examine new challenges and to hear the progress being made by industry and researchers working on the future of Augmented Reality. Session 6<\/h1>\n

Title: New Opportunities and Challenges for AR<\/p>\n

In this session we will have three topics covering a variety of new issues that are already impeding the growth of the industry, or new opportunities for collaboration towards AR growth in the near future. If you have a topic you would like to contribute, please notify Christine Perey<\/a>.

Session 7<\/h1>\n

Title: AR-Enabled Applications and Services Demonstrations<\/p>\n

During this session live demonstrations will illustrate how current or emerging standards are being used to produce AR experiences. We will have demonstrations of these early and mature implementations<\/a> and begin a discussion on the development of AR interoperability testing methodologies, protocols and content<\/a> with the goal of coordinating with all relevant SDOs to contribute to successful implementation of an international AR interoperability experiment.<\/p>\n

Session 8<\/h1>\n

Title: Hands-Free AR Requirements Document<\/p>\n

During each meeting the participants of the meeting engage in collaboration on community resources. For example, the AR Glossary and SDO landscape<\/a>. During the Sixth AR Standards Community Meeting, participants developed the first draft of the hands-free display and context capture systems requirements document<\/a>, a new community resource. During this session led by Pete Wassell of Augmate  (slides here<\/a>), Kayvan Mirza presents his proposal (slides here<\/a>) and we will discuss the status of this resource, receive and develop inputs and plan for its continued development.<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n

Session 9<\/h1>\n

Title: AR Standards Landscape and 3D Transmission Format<\/p>\n

During this session we will update and publish a new AR Standards Landscape and edit the existing and emerging standards listings on the AR Standards portal. All contributions and insights to this working session will be welcome.<\/p>\n

Session 10<\/h1>\n

Title: Next Steps and Conclusions<\/p>\n

The delegates of the meeting will collaborate for this final session to define the next steps they wish their organizations and institutes to pursue and to chart out the future. By way of a facilitated discussion amongst the meeting participants, the meeting with close with a clearer agenda for the coming months.
