{"id":1379,"date":"2012-11-16T07:43:14","date_gmt":"2012-11-16T07:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/?page_id=1379"},"modified":"2013-01-31T06:56:35","modified_gmt":"2013-01-31T06:56:35","slug":"eighth-meeting-position-papers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/eighth-meeting-position-papers\/","title":{"rendered":"Eighth Meeting Position Papers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/eighth-meeting-agenda\/\">Eighth AR Standards Community Meeting agenda<\/a> will be designed to reflect the needs and interests of the community seeking open and interoperable AR content and experiences.<\/p>\n<p>In order to plan for these needs and to accommodate the interests, the community members are <strong>HIGHLY ENCOURAGED<\/strong> to prepare and submit position papers. This page provides all information necessary for preparation and submission of position papers for the eighth community meeting.<\/p>\n<h1>Past Position Papers<\/h1>\n<p>When considering how to contribute to the community, we recommend that you begin by reviewing previously submitted position papers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In October 2010, the <a href=\"..\/..\/ARStandardsPositionPapers.html\">first meeting position papers<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In February 2011, <a href=\"..\/february-meeting\/\">the second meeting<\/a> outputs are found on<a href=\"..\/february-meeting-outputs\/\"> this page<\/a>. <br \/>\n\t\tPosition papers contributed by\/for the second meeting are found <a href=\"..\/position-papers-for-feb-2011\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In June 2011, the third meeting position papers and pre-reading are available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/third-meeting-position-papers-and-pre-reads\/\">this page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In October 2011, the fourth meeting position papers and pre-reading are available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/fourth-meeting-position-papers-and-pre-reads\/\">this page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In March 2012, the fifth meeting position papers and pre-reading are available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/fifth-meeting-pre-reading-and-position-papers\/\">this page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In July 2012, the sixth meeting position papers and presentations are found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/sixth-meeting-agenda\/\">this page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In November 2012, the seventh meeting position papers and pre-reading materials are found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/seventh-meeting-pre-reading-and-postion-papers\/\">this page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Scope<\/h1>\n<p>New contributions specifically designed to inform the community about new developments, or topics not previously covered in our meetings of the community are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Papers must be relevant to the topic of open interfaces and platforms for Augmented Reality. They may make recommendations regarding reuse of existing standards, make arguments for or against specific strategies, propose new approaches and, optionally, contain examples.<\/p>\n<h1>Format<\/h1>\n<p>Allowed formats are HTML\/XHTML or PDF.<\/p>\n<p>All papers must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be 1 to 8 pages in length<\/li>\n<li>be written in English<\/li>\n<li>include a title, names of authors, affiliation of authors on the top of first page<\/li>\n<li>have author contact e-mail in the title block (above) or as a footnote on page 1<\/li>\n<li>have page numbers and the words <br \/>\n\t\t&quot;International AR Standards Meeting-March 1-2, 2013&quot; in the footer of the page(s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Submission procedure<\/h1>\n<p>There will be a two phase submission process in order to encourage early preparation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Abstracts:<\/u><\/strong> All those planning to submit a full position paper for the eighth meeting are invited to send a brief synopsis of 500 words on or before December 18, 2012. This will assist the Program Committee in preparation of a draft agenda, identifying and inviting speakers.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Final position papers:<\/u><\/strong> Full position papers, or the URL of the position paper if it is published on the Web in HTML or PDF format, must be sent by January 31, 2013 via e-mail to <a href=\"mailto:cperey@perey.com\">Christine Perey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Each author of a paper which is on relevant topics will receive acknowledgement (notification of acceptance) e-mail from the meeting chair upon submission of a paper which the program committee deems as meeting the guidelines of the workshop.<\/p>\n<h1>Deadlines<\/h1>\n<p>Abstracts are due December 18, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>All final position papers must be submitted on or before 5 PM UK time January 31, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Notifications with suggested modifications will be made promptly (within one week of receipt of submission).<\/p>\n<h1>Terms and conditions<\/h1>\n<p>Submitting a paper constitutes acceptance of the terms below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All papers must be original in content, or extensions of previously published content, authored by one or more participants.<\/li>\n<li>In making the submission of a paper, the meeting participant accepts that <br \/>\n\t\tthe organizers will publish on the Web and at their discretion the content of <br \/>\n\t\tthe position paper.<\/li>\n<li>Meeting organizers are not responsible for accuracy of final paper contents.<\/li>\n<li>Organizers are at liberty to decide if content of submitted paper is not<br \/>\n\t\tin the scope of the meeting and elect not to publish papers considered out of scope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Eighth AR Standards Community Meeting agenda will be designed to reflect the needs and interests of the community seeking open and interoperable AR content and experiences.
