Since 2011, the AR Community has expressed&nbsp;the need for an&nbsp;Augmented Reality Reference Model and explored different approaches to its advancement. In 2012, the preparation of&nbsp;a royalty-free, public Mixed and Augmented Reality Reference Model began&nbsp;within ISO\/IEC JTC1.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\n\tMarius Preda, co-editor of the&nbsp;Mixed and Augmented Reality&nbsp;Reference Model and chair of the MPEG 3D Graphics Working group, will present the current MAR Reference Model and&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">provide a&nbsp;report on next steps<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Community members will have the opportunity to&nbsp;discuss&nbsp;the current process as well as the content of the current draft MAR RM. During this session we will hear from leading developers about their implementations of standards for superior AR delivery and&nbsp;the challenges that they face.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\n\tDuring the Ninth Community Meeting, the concept of&nbsp;AR Discovery was defined and proposed as the basis for future open services. During this session&nbsp;Christine Perey and Lars Svensson, German National Library, will provide an overview of the AR Discovery concept and&nbsp;a status report on the work of the AR Community&#39;s AR Discovery Task Force prototype project. AR developers will learn how they can contribute to the development of open and scalable AR Discovery services.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Mikel Salazar, from the&nbsp;<\/span>University of Deusto, originally presented the Augmented&nbsp;Reality-based User Interaction Markup Language during the 9th AR Community meeting. The object model has since evolved into a more encompassing and organized view of the interaction between human beings and computer systems through Augmented Reality. This&nbsp;comprehensive model is proposed as the basis for&nbsp;new and more intuitive user experiences, not just for single apps but for operating systems.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Gila Kamhi, Principal Engineer, Intel, <\/span>will explain why 3D-based natural interaction is necessary for compelling AR experiences and suggest that it is time to begin a standardization effort to facilitate creation of naturally interactive AR content focusing on edutainment and learning domains. &nbsp;She will show how to create&nbsp;new or migrate&nbsp;existing content to be naturally augmented with Intel RealSense SDK and Unity plug-in and share Intel&rsquo;s intention to standardize naturally interactive AR interfaces.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Habiburrahman Dastageeri<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.6em;\">, HTF Stuttgart faculty&nbsp;and partner of&nbsp;the SPIRIT Project, will present the project goals and share the status of an ARML 2.0-based&nbsp;platform for preparing and publishing open and interoperable transparent video&nbsp;content&nbsp;for use in geolocation-based AR experiences for visitors of cultural heritage sites.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">&nbsp;<a id=\"session11\" name=\"session11\"><\/a><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<h1>\n\tSession 11<br \/>\n<\/h1>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\n\tNext Steps\/Next Meeting\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\n\tBefore we break, the delegates of the meeting will converge upon&nbsp;a few key themes on which the community members want to focus over the next 12 months, define the&nbsp;steps they,&nbsp;their organizations and institutes plan to pursue to advance Open and Interoperable AR, and to identify timelines and schedule meetings in 2015.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is the final&nbsp;agenda for the&nbsp;September 2014 AR Community Meeting.
