2016 AR Community Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\">community of people seeking to advance work towards open and interoperable AR<\/a>\u00a0will meet on\u00a0April 18 and 19, 2016\u00a0in Aachen, Germany.\u00a0<a name=\"Goals\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Meeting Goals<\/h1>\n<p>The face-to-face community meetings are designed to promote\u00a0discussion among ecosystem stakeholders\u00a0for the development of open and interoperable AR content and experiences.<\/p>\n<p>In community-defined\u00a0and led sessions, our goals are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discover new barriers to interoperability and discuss strategies to minimize their impacts<\/li>\n<li>Learn of continuing and newly initiated activities relevant to open and interoperable AR<\/li>\n<li>Discuss emerging challenges which may be addressed via standards or open source interfaces<\/li>\n<li>Plan for the community\u2019s future by reviewing existing\u00a0activities, chartering new work\u00a0and scheduling\u00a0meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Augmented Reality\u00a0developers participating in the community are on the front lines to learn about and influence the direction of new tools. \u00a0Developers encountering obstacles to audience reach and end user adoption as a result of proprietary technology silos\u00a0are\u00a0encouraged to attend to learn about the open specifications and APIs under development, and to provide their opinions.<\/p>\n<p>All community members\u00a0are invited to suggest topics for the agenda.<a id=\"To Participate\" name=\"To Participate\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>To Participate in the AR Community Meeting<\/h1>\n<p>Those planning to participate in the April 2016\u00a0AR Community Meeting should review the Meetings).<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/join\/\">Joining the mailing lists for the community<\/a>\u00a0is also highly recommended.<a beginning at 7:00 PM on evening of April 18\u00a0and two\u00a0coffee breaks and\u00a0lunch on both days\u00a0are included in the meeting registration fee.\u00a0Each participant will be responsible for their travel costs\u00a0and other incidentals.<a name=\"Agenda\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Agenda<\/h1>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/april-2016-ar-community-meeting-agenda\/\">draft meeting agenda<\/a> has been published. \u00a0Anyone seeking to present during the April 2016 meeting is invited to submit a proposal following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/april-2016-ar-community-meeting-position-paper-guidelines\/\">April 2016 AR Community meeting speaking proposal and position paper guidelines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The final agenda will be published on 10 April 2016.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0pre-reading materials list with position papers will be published on 10 April 2016.<a
