{"id":400,"date":"2011-05-01T19:45:46","date_gmt":"2011-05-01T19:45:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/?page_id=400"},"modified":"2011-05-27T20:41:15","modified_gmt":"2011-05-27T20:41:15","slug":"third-meeting-position-papers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/third-meeting-position-papers\/","title":{"rendered":"Third Meeting Position Papers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/third-international-ar-standards-meeting\/\">Third Meeting of the International AR Standards community<\/a> is designed to achieve the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/third-international-ar-standards-meeting\/#Goals\">objectives<\/a> as defined by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perey.com\/ARStandards\/third-international-ar-standards-meeting\/#Committee\">co-chairs and the program committee<\/a>. In order to achieve these objectives, speakers\/contributors are invited to provide presentations to discuss current status of ongoing activities. In addition to the invited speakers who will speak on specific topics, the co-chairs and program committee members solicit contributions in the form of short position papers.<\/p>\n<p>This page provides all information necessary for preparation and submission of position papers for this meeting.<\/p>\n<h1>Past Position Papers<\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">In October 2010, the <a href=\"..\/..\/ARStandardsMeeting.html\" target=\"_new\">first meeting of this community<\/a> was in Seoul, Korea. The participants raised many important topics and issues that helped provide the framework for continued dialogue. Please consult the <a href=\"..\/..\/ARStandardsPositionPapers.html\">first meeting position papers<\/a>. In February 2011, a second meeting involving some of the same participants as well as many new faces, was organized in Barcelona, Spain. The outputs from <a href=\"..\/february-meeting\/\">the second meeting<\/a> are found on<a href=\"..\/february-meeting-outputs\/\"> this page<\/a>. Position papers contributed by\/for the second meeting are found <a href=\"..\/position-papers-for-feb-2011\/\">here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">When considering how to contribute to the community, we recommend that you begin by reviewing previously submitted position papers. <\/span><\/p>\n<h1>Scope<\/h1>\n<p>New contributions specifically designed to inform the community about new developments, or topics not previously covered in our meetings of the community are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, this meeting will highlight and highly encourage participants to read in advance papers on topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inter-disciplinary and cross organizational collaboration between Standards Development Organizations (SDOs), industry associations, and other relevant types of groups,<\/li>\n<li>Identification of relevant existing standards and the areas in which new standards may be needed to spur collaborative development in the marketplace,<\/li>\n<li>Augmented Reality and Spatial Law,<\/li>\n<li>Augmented Reality and Personal Data, with special emphasis on the Personal Data Ecosystem,<\/li>\n<li>Augmented Reality and the development of appropriate Display\/Output devices,<\/li>\n<li>Augmented Reality and Indoor Navigation, and<\/li>\n<li>Testbeds for Augmented Reality best practices and standards implementations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Format<\/h1>\n<p>Allowed formats are HTML\/XHTML or PDF.<\/p>\n<p>All papers must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be 1 to 8 pages in length<\/li>\n<li>be written in English<\/li>\n<li>include a title, names of authors, affiliation of authors on the top of first page<\/li>\n<li>have author contact e-mail in the title block (above) or as a footnote on page 1<\/li>\n<li>have page numbers and the words <br \/>\n\t\t&quot;International AR Standards Meeting-June 15-16 2011&quot; in the footer of the page(s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Submission procedure<\/h1>\n<p>Workshop paper, or the URL of the position paper if it is published on the Web in<br \/>\n\tHTML or PDF format, must be sent via e-mail to <a href=\"mailto:cperey@perey.com\">Christine Perey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Each author of a paper which is on workshop relevant topics will receive <br \/>\n\tacknowlegement (notification of acceptance) e-mail from workshop chairs upon <br \/>\n\tsubmission of a paper which the program committee deems as meeting the guidelines<br \/>\n\tof the workshop.<\/p>\n<h1>Deadline<\/h1>\n<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED!!<br \/>\n\t<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All papers must be submitted on or before 5 PM UK time June 6, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Notifications with suggested modifications will be made promptly (within<br \/>\n\tone week of receipt of submission).<\/p>\n<h1>Terms and conditions<\/h1>\n<p>Submitting a paper constitutes acceptance of the terms below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All papers must be original in content, or extensions of previously published content, authored by one or more participants.<\/li>\n<li>In making the submission of a paper, the meeting participant accepts that <br \/>\n\t\tthe organizers will publish on the Web and at their discretion the content of <br \/>\n\t\tthe position paper.<\/li>\n<li>Meeting organizers are not responsible for accuracy of final paper contents.<\/li>\n<li>Organizers are at liberty to decide if content of submitted paper is not<br \/>\n\t\tin the scope of the meeting and elect not to publish papers considered out of scope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Third Meeting of the International AR Standards community is designed to achieve the objectives as defined by the co-chairs and the program committee.
