At this time of the year, the students of the world are frequently found in classrooms, organizing themselves for the fall season of discovery. Among business people, it is also a season of important workshops, conferences, summits and seminars.
We must continue to learn and to compare our knowledge and achievements with what remains to be accomplished.
In all domains which PEREY Research studies and in which we participate, there remains a high need for assembling basic building blocks into robust products and services. Of course, there must be improvements and advancements within any core technology, but the investments needed to bridge gaps and fuse talents towards more integrated, inter-dependent systems, to develop an ecosystem, are greater.
By connecting people and companies with different value propositions and complementary offers, we are increasing the opportunities for discovery. The more we discover, the greater our understanding and, frequently, the bigger business opportunities emerge.

Workshop
Christine Perey is the co-chair of the upcoming W3C Workshop on the Future of Social Networking. The workshop will take place in Barcelona, Spain on January 15-16, 2009.
