Where are you?
Think of this as an intellectual challenge. We each have our information radar continually turned "on" in one or multiple domains. Your focus of attention may be changing, it is certainly evolving over time.
In all domains in which PEREY Research participates, there is an acceleration around everything having to do with contextual awareness.
We focus on technologies which enhance the user's awareness of context--when in the home, at work and in between. Context is much larger than only longitude and latitude. It is financial, psychological, social. How can context bring value?
We also spend a significant amount of our time and energy thinking and relating ourselves to a temporal reference (time).
Have you heard about Spimes? Well, if not, it's time you did!
First coined by Bruce Sterling in 2004, spime has been released. Now spime is "open". The concept of "spimes" applies in objects as well as with concepts.
We are experimenting with spimes. We're wrangling spimes.
Your spimes
We are operating in the increasingly interdependent and information rich world. We are drawing attention to spimes to help companies target, focus. We are also building stronger bridges between business and research institutes.
What is your context, what are you looking for, where and when are you looking? What type of partner or supplier are you most likely to need in 2009?
Let us help you build, find and use your spimes.
What's hot?
In addition to working on important client projects, we are leading and engaged in three exciting initiatives in the half of 2009.
Market Research Report
The second edition of the Mobile Social Networking report is in development. It will highlight the many changes in the industry in a short 12 months since the publication of the first edition. The new report features 15 country profiles which dig into why different mobile community strategies are needed for different countries and regions. It's NOT just a question of the language!
This report examines:
- new technology strategies such as enhancing communities with location-awareness and reaching larger audiences,
- the effects of the "mobilization" of the largest Web communiities on existing and new smaller communities,
- emergence of industry standards and Application Interfaces, and
- impacts of mobile advertising and new premium services on the revenues in this industry.
Community of Interest Workshop
As the Technology Transfer consultant to AMI, we are actively working with the AMI Consortium partners on the upcoming Community of Interest event. The COI Workshop will be held May 14-15, 2009 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The workshop is an excellent opportunity to see all the latest AMI meeting technology building blocks and to meet with scientists who are developing these.

Conference, Workshops and Exhibition
We are collaborating with general conference co-chairs Christopher Stapleton and Jannick Rolland and other volunteers to make ISMAR, the annual meeting of the International Society of Mixed and Augmented Reality, an enormous success in 2009.
The focus of Christine Perey's contributions to this event will be around commercial and pre-commercial strategies for success of Mobile Augmented and Mixed Reality. As the chair of the Mobile Committee of the ISMAR 2009 event, we will ensure that mobile applications and business opportunities are integrated into all aspects of the event, including the conference sessions, special program and exhibition hall presence.
ISMAR 2009 will take place October 19-23, 2009 in Orlando, Florida.
