What to put in a position paper?
The author (or multiple authors) takes a topic about which they consider
themselves to be experts/thought leaders, describes the topic in depth (provide
historical context or any data from experience, for example) and develops the
list of challenges/risks, and/or can propose solution(s).
Topics for position papers
Mobile AR Summit position papers can be on any topic within scope. Some
suggested topics of interest include:
- Device-independent interfaces for Mobile AR features
- Standards for Mobile AR
- Social Augmented Reality for mobile
- Mobile AR User Experiences
- Regional or Geographical factors and their impact on Mobile AR success
- Mechanisms for securely sharing location
- Privacy preserving mechanisms for mobile AR
- Secure transaction/financial and recommendation tracking specifications for commerce within Mobile AR
- Opportunities for industry collaboration
- Mobile AR metrics
- Intersection of Augmented Reality and the Web
- Risks and Challenges to the growth of Mobile AR
- Mobile AR Business Models
Format
Allowed formats are HTML/XHTML, PDF or Microsoft Word.
All papers must:
- be 1 to 4 pages in length, although they may link to longer versions or appendices
- be written in English
- include a title, names of authors, affiliation of authors on the top of first page
- have author contact e-mail in the title block (above) or as a footnote on page 1
- have page numbers and the words "Position Paper for ISMAR2010 Mobile AR Summit" in the footer of the page(s)
Submission procedure
Position paper, or the URL of the position paper if it is published on the Web in
HTML or PDF format, must be sent via e-mail to Christine Perey.
The Summit organizers may ask the authors of particularly salient position papers
to explicitly present their position at the summit. Presenters will be asked to make
the slides of any presentations available to the public in HTML, PDF, or plain text.
Deadline
All papers must be submitted on or before 5 PM UK time October 1, 2010.
Late position papers may be accepted depending on space availability.
Terms and conditions
Submitting a paper constitutes acceptance of the terms below.
- All position papers must be original in content, authored by one or more summit participants.
- In making the submission of position paper, the summit participant accepts that the summit organizers will publish on the Web and at their discretion the content of the position paper.
- Summit organizers are not responsible for accuracy of the position paper contents.
- Organizers are at liberty to decide if content of submitted position paper is not in the scope of the summit and elect not to publish papers considered out of scope.
