Presentations
I regularly speak at industry events. Topics I cover include:
Mobile Social Networking: where are we and where are we heading?
A look at the state of the industry, (the ecosystem as a whole and its segments, business models, the users), then we examine the societal, technological and economic drivers and obstacles, finally we take a look into the future (I can get quantitative with forecasts, or remain qualitative). What are the changes we can anticipate in the next 12 months and beyond? How should companies prepare for these changes ahead?
Monetizing your Mobile Communities: business models and go to market strategies
This is the deepest treatment available of the different ways to monetize mobile communities and I provide many recommendations, based on case studies of successful services, on how to launch, expand and accelerate mobile social networking services.
Communities and Connections: Mobile, Converged and On-line
How are communities defined or constrained by their access methods? Why is mobile going to be dramatically more important than the on-line community market? what are the best approaches to take to maximize the experience of community members?
Breaking down Silos: helping mobile communities retain their uniqueness while expanding their reach
This presentation is about the different causes of community silos, then a survey of strategies being explored for reducing or removing the barriers between communities. It touches on standardization, developments such as Android and customer/member privacy protection.
Social Media in moble communities: the glue that moves but always knows its location
With mobile handset hardware and software for photo and video capture fully integrated and at affordable price points, mobile communities provide the easiest way for people to share their experiences with one another. This presentation examines trends in mobile social media, where it is found most compelling, where it isn't necessary or wanted. The analysis also looks at the connections between location awareness and social media in over 10 active mobile community services.
Mobile social shopping: where brands, business and social networks meet
This presentation provides an overview of one of the most exciting new features in mobile social networking. With as well as without location-enabling features, the services which permit people to browse, purchase, barter and recommend digital and physical goods and services will appeal to Western mass market consumers, converting them to micro-markets of customers.

Writings
There are many ways to share what we are doing with others. Composing our thoughts in text is one of the most important and scalable means to communicate. Go here to see what happens when a blog is posted.
My biggest project in the past 6 months is the Mobile Social Networking market research report. I will be writing a few white papers and public articles based on the findings of the study.
Most of what I write is internal for my clients and projects. When there are public resources I put them here by line of business and cross post to the line of business page.
I also contribute regularly to Informa’s Mobile Media newsletter.
The PEREY Research & Consulting blog about Mobile Social Networking is here. The blog is a place to catalog ongoing research and conversations I have with others in the industry.
The PEREY Research & Consulting blog about Mobile Augmented Reality is here.
